Mi Ciuad de Zamboanga Photo Competition 2016

Celebrating Zamboangueño creativity and ingenuity, the local government on Tuesday, April 26, recognized the winning entries of two summer festival competitions – the Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga Photo competition and the 1st Zamboanga Chalk Art contest.

For the photo competition, the entry of Gerard A. Pacaña was adjudged the best among the field of 30 photo submissions. Entitled ‘Baile’, Pacaña’s photo featured fire dancers performing in the City’s Rizal Shrine.

Berlito Bolotaolo’s ‘El Cross Mayor’, a photo depicting devotees in Abong-Abong, landed the second spot, while Ulysses John Almocera’s ‘Yakan Kaleidoscope’ featuring the Yakan hand-woven fabric, claimed both the third place, and the voter’s choice award with 623 likes and 101 shares on Facebook.

Winners received cash prizes and plaques of recognition.

Making up the finalists line-up were the entries of Joseph Lou Sta. Teresa (Vela De Ezperanza), Rudmar Villanueva (Vida’y Vinta), Arthur Joshua Rodriguez (The Sea is what I See), and Fouad Isahac Arakama (The Builder). Click on the Photo for gallery view.
