Im attending Graphika Manila 2011!

Yey! I got my tickets booked and i am set to go to this year's Graphika Manila. It is an international conference on design which will be held at the SMX Convention Center, MOA on July 30, 2011 from 10AM-5PM. This will be my third time to attend the most anticipated event for graphic designers and artists. I attended GM 2007 and 2009 where i got to see inspiring artists and companies like Stefan Seigmeister, Industrial Light and Magic, Electrolychee, Everywhere We Shoot, Hue Visual Lab and more. They talked about their work experience, creative process, and tonnes of awesome works. Every year they bring international speakers ranging from graphic design, photography, web development, to motion graphics.

This year will be very exciting because they will bring WETA Digital, they created the special effects in the famous movie AVATAR. Last year they won an Academy Award for Special Effects for that movie. The company is based in New Zealand and specialize in digital production services for high-end films and commercials. They will be represented by Kevin Smith, their Digital Effects Supervisor.

The lineup of speakers include: Mike Friolo, senior designer of Nike, Inc (Portland, Oregon); Laundry!, design and animation studio (LA, California); Dan Matutina, designer and illustrator (Manila, Ph); 27+20, a multidisciplinary design company (Quezon, Ph); and Seph Mayol, designer/developer (Cebu, Ph).

Im already excited for the event and im ready to see Manila again! See yah!
