It's the hottest yet funnest time of the year! The City Government will hold the annual Summer Festival from April to May 2016. Some activities includes commemorative programs in honor of the city's important people and various competitions such as Hiphop Dance, Chalk Art, Photography, Neo-Ethnic Dance and Festival de las Bellas y Flores. Here's the complete calendar of activities:
This year’s summer festival will have its opening salvo on April 1 (Saturday) at 4 p.m. at City Hall grounds. The Zamboanga Hip Hop Dance Competition will entertain the young and adults alike on April 8 at 8 a.m. at the City Coliseum in Tetuan.

April 26, the birthday of Zamboanga’s first woman mayor the late Maria Clara L. Lobregat, is declared “Dia de Ma’am Caling” and a commemorative program will follow after the mass at Jardin Maria Clara Lobregat in Pasonanca. On same day at 6 p.m., there will be Chavacano Pop Music Night also at Jardin Maria Clara.

Joey G of Side-A Band will have a concert on April 29 at 8 p.m. at the City Coliseum. May 18 is declared “Dia de Gen. Vicente Alvarez” and a program is slated at 8 a.m. at Plaza de Gen. Vicente Alvarez (fronting Plaza Pershing).
The annual Festival de las Bellas y Flores will be on May 21 at 5 p.m. at City Hall Grounds. “Danza Verano” (Street Party) will regale ZamboangueƱos of all ages at Paseo del Mar Esplanade.
