Sinistrality..simply means left-handedness. It came from the root word "sinister" which suggests evil: threatening or suggesting malevolence, menace, or harm. What a prejudice!!! I am a true blooded lefty and a moment ago I read a post in Buzz the Top 20 lefthanded Celebrities. It’s Left-handedness Day, and guess what, the day is exactly my birthday, August 12 at the exact time 9:00. It says that Left-handedness has been traced back to pre-tool days, but sinistrality was considered an bad omen, a predilecton towards Satanism, and just plain gauche. Parents and teachers concocted all sorts of behavior modification devices to get lefties onto the right path. Southpaws are left to their own devices nowadays, although academics still can’t resist seeking neuro-correlations between left-hand inclinations and a myriad of other leanings. Just this week, a study showed left-handed men were better earners than their right-handed counterparts. We raise a glass (no handles) to Left-Handers Day and toast the top 20 lefties in Search…
As a fellow leftie I’m not suprised to learn that today’s funniest and most talented people are left-handed. However, left-handed superiority has been a fact of life throughout every generation. Here are a few other noteworthy and awesome lefties: Ben Franklin, Richard Pryor, Michaelangelo, Charlie Chaplin, Jim Henson, Robert DeNiro, H.G. Wells, and Leonardo DaVinci.
