Jun and Jena SDE
Our first client was the brother of Jan-jan's girlfriend. Jun entrusted our new team to cover their most special day. Aside from the new team they selected, Jun and Jena had their wedding ceremony in a brand new event place called The Alexandra Events Garden at Cabato Road (facebook page). It means we were also the first team to cover an event there. Jun and Jena wanted a Garden wedding and it turned out really beautiful with the help of Jeff's coordination and event styling team.
We really wanted to have our own signature touch in our video. For this one I created a frame by frame animation of the letterings of their names. We also paid attention to symmetry in terms of composition. And, of course, the most important thing in every wedding video is capturing the most essential moments of the bride and groom. I really like the uniqueness of Germay and Rea's wedding. It's so hipster with all the Volkswagen Vans, cute letterings on stage and all the nitty gritty details that makes wedding a wedding. Better Days Events really stepped up their game in styling themed wedding and i believe this is their best one yet. The ceremony took place at the Church of Ebenezer Bible School, which is also our first time there. The place is so peaceful and big and the dorms look like old American houses. Woohoo! I'm super excited for Sweet Shots Event Film Making Workshop, the first of its kind here in Zamboanga. Trebor Z are now doing all the preps for the 2-day fun-filled event featuring two of Manila's well-known Video Masters, Christian Andaya and Michael Jamandre. We also created this promo video which is literally about the two words, "Sweet" and "Shots".haha Talk about being creative ;) During the production we just thought about the concept. For 'sweet', we used candies, softdrinks, sugar, and couples who are sweet :)lol! And for 'shots', we used a dart board, shot glasses with drinks, lenses and selfies ;)
For almost a month of no SDE, i'm back in event film making with the Trebor Z team. Val and Rhea trusted our team to capture the most important day of their life. The song was chosen by the couple along with other songs which are very fitting for SDE's. The song that i chose was also the song for their first dance, which means i did the right decision to choose this song among the 5 choices. Their wedding was an exquisite one. We got to work with Roy Guilly Photography and their team, where one of my former students is a part of. I definitely love their prenup photos which was styled by vintage queen Maam Aleli Tan. CMK was the coordinator and they gave the couple a pretty reception set up. So here's the highlight of Val and Rhea's wedding.
The year has just started and I got the privilege to travel with the crew for an out of town wedding. This will be my second out of town wedding but my first Tagaytay wedding! It's so exciting to go back there because the last time me and my family went there, it was just too short and we went at night so we weren't able to fully experience the place. The wedding day was January 12, a Sunday. We woke up early because the wedding was 11 in the morning which was held at the Church on a Hill. The reception followed at the beautiful Hill Creek Gardens. Shoutout to Sir Kerwin Baldovino for always hitching us there. Check out their SDE here.
For me, this is probably our best work so far :) There's just a time when everything falls perfectly into place. We have a great couple, a great video team and suppliers who works to make this wedding perfect. I want to elaborate more about Onat and Jen's SDE but, i'll just quote the words of our boss, Trebz:
It's already December! Which means its Wedding season again! For two weeks I already did six SDEs, one for a birthday and five weddings. I'll start with Jerome and Rina. Presenting the first ever aerial shots used in a Zamboanga Wedding! Timmy and Marian were such a fun couple. During her wedding day, Marian is just filled with lots of emotions. She's so happy and positive as she was having her makeup. She said that she felt like she's the most beautiful girl in the world. She smiled ceaselessly and was just super excited for the wedding to start. While recording a short message for his soon to be husband, she can't stop her tears. Timmy, on the other hand, was sweating while giving his message. He was filled with mixed emotions.
After the month long Zambo Crisis, i'm back in doing SDE with my team, Trebor Z Audio Visuals. Alfrith and Michelle's big wedding was attended by their families and friend not only from Zamboanga but from other cities and countries, too. Nothing can hinder love, indeed. This is my first time to witness a church wedding in the evening. It started at 6PM and reception already started at 9. Nevertheless, the wedding was such a unique one. The reception was held at the Poolside of Regency and the pool was transformed into a stage with fountain. There was also a spectacular fireworks show that really made their wedding very romantic. I love the stage setup by Raymond Rabanal, too. Congratulations to Patrick and Grace! Here is the same-day edit!
Here's an epic muslim wedding coordinated by Joe Harris Kari Events and Event Styling. It's quite a unique video since exchanging of vows are not common in Muslim weddings. Their heartfelt messages to one another shows that their love is sincere and pure. Enjoy the video!
After 10 years of marriage, Hannah and Reynier renewed their vows with the blessing of the church on May 30, 2013. At an early age Hannah took the challenge of motherhood and now they have three sons and a lovely daughter. Hannah has a British ancestry so they incorporated a tea-party like theme in their prenup shoot and decors. Check out the lovely family's special moment in this video.
It was elections day, and like every other responsible Filipino, me and my family went a public school to vote. After almost 3 hours of queuing, I finally got to cast my ballot and thank God, the PCOS machine didn't malfunction. It's 11am and the crew is at Lantaka Hotel already documenting the preparations for the big wedding of Sean and Aprille.
Here's another Tausug wedding featuring Zamboanga's famous family, Nuño and Salih. Nuño are very well known in Taluksangay, an old Muslim community in the east coast of the city. Their wedding was filled with prominent personalities and persons with big names. Nonetheless, the wedding is all about the couple. Check out our transitions especially with groom who was very friendly and game to whatever directions we gave him. Here's Abdel and Ain as they tie the knot in their traditional Muslim wedding and Sharia ceremony.
Ghapz and Shamie works in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as nurses. The bride, Shamie, is from Cebu, and they decided to have their Sharia wedding here in Zamboanga. Her family flew here to witness her momentous occasion in life. They were filled with emotions showing how they truly love the bride. The tall and handsome groom vowed to love her forever starting in this beautiful ceremony. Their pagkawin happened at Pavilion while the elegant Sharia rites happened at Astoria Regency.
When it comes to vintage themed events, no one does it better than Daydream Events by Aleli Tan. It has been months since my last collaboration with Maam Ai and im always excited to do videos like this. "It's all about the details" is the motto. Check out the classic wax stamp and her scroll invite. The location is a private residence of a doctor here in Zamboanga. The outdoor shots were taken at Centro Pastoral where the clouds were epic! After the very busy December, we're back in class. We started this year with fun activities for our classes before we go to the Midterm week. For my ITCA106 (Sound Supervision) class, I asked them to do a live group cover of a Pop Music of their choice. Nikolai's group got the highest scores with their cover of "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the Kids. The Trebor Z crew was there to document this activity.
Cedrick S. Zabala "CSZ97" is a multimedia artist based in the City of Zamboanga. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology major in Multimedia and Computer Animation. Currently he works at the City Government of Zamboanga under the Mayor's Office as a Public Information Officer, and as a part-time Instructor in Ateneo de Zamboanga University. He is currently taking his Master's Degree in Public Administration in Western Mindanao State University. He lives a life with a passion for the arts, culture, and travel.
