Be Part of the Fun

11:30 AM
2019 - The Department of Tourism recently revealed their new campaign and refreshed look of the brand, It's More Fun in the Philippines. They created a new font "Barabara" inspired by the handmade signs by Filipinos artisans. They also encouraged people to join in the new campaign "Be Part of the Fun" where the person becomes part of the word which describes the place. The font and logos are available in the website and you can make your own, too.

Last month, I had the chance to visit one of my top destinations in my bucket list, the majestic Batanes! I travelled with my long time travel buddies and had so much fun! I chose this photo which featured the hills of Basco with maze-like hedgerows or 'liveng' which made the landscape of Batanes look like a huge labyrinth. Hedgerowsa are tall rows of reeds, trees, grass, or piled stones used as crop protection from wind, typhoons or sea breeze. They make Batanes landscape appear like vast collection of labyrinths. They prevent soil erosion and double as demarcation lines or boundaries of farms.

I chose the word "Breathtaking" which is the campaign of Batanes #BreathtakingBatanes. As a land of unparalleled beauty, Batanes has surely taken our breath away with every picturesque landscape, amazing culture and warm people. This is my contribution for the Tourism campaign and I hope you can also be part of it, too! Travel and discover Philippines and share your experiences! I Love Zamboanga City

7:47 PM
Highlighting the beauty, the culture, and the wonders of Zamboanga City, City Mayor Beng Climaco officially launched the “I Love Zamboanga City” campaign yesterday afternoon, October 1 at City Hall.

Amidst the sea of Zamboangueños who flocked City Hall for the grand opening salvo of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2015, Climaco unveiled the I Love Zamboanga video as she urged residents to show their love for the City and to stay united despite the challenges and obstacles.

“Man junto-junto kita – in unity, we will build back a better Zamboanga,” she said.

The launch of the I Love Zamboanga was one of the highlights of the kickoff activity for the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2015 yesterday at City Hall. Ushering the entry of the month-long festival, the City’s grandest celebration, were the opening parade, the Pink October Walk, and the lighting of the Hermosa Festival emblem.

Gracing the opening activities with Climaco were AKBAYAN Representative Angelina Ludovice-Katoh and members of the City Council. Joining in the celebration were hundreds of residents, to include members and representatives from the business, private, education and healthcare sectors, as well as civil society sectors and the barangays. Build Back Better Zamboanga Logo Design

12:34 AM
So i was tasked to design the logo of the City Government's campaign "Build Back Better Zamboanga". Here's the process of creating the final logo.

1. Here are my two very different take on the Build Back Better Campaign. One is very colorful and the other is just a simple black and white typography. The second one was chosen.

2. I created a variety of designs. I gave different choices of fonts to choose from.

3. I also made a colored version of the variations. The chose the colors of the middle top but the "Zamboanga" of the top right.

4. More variations from the chosen color and font.

5. They want navy blue for the field and fuchsia pink for Zamboanga. I gave a variety of shades to choose from.

6. Final Logo :)
