The Grandest festival of Zamboanga Peninsula is back! Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2022 welcomes back visitors and locals in the face-to-face new normal festivities in the city this October. With the new tourism brand and theme "Celebracion de Colores" under the new administration of Mayor John Dalipe, the City Government and its partners in the public and private sector has linedup an exciting lineup of events including the most anticipated Streetdance Competition and the most colorful race of vintas, the Regatta de Zamboanga. The local government is preparing for the line-up of activities set to commemorate the 84th Dia de Zamboanga on February 26. This year’s celebration will be marked by key events held virtually due to the restrictions on mass gathering. Among the main events being prepared for the Dia de Zamboanga celebration are the Local Achievers Award (February 26), the Zoom In: Inter Barangay Vlog Competition (February 26), and the Dia de Zamboanga Photography Competition 2021 (February 22-28, exhibit; February 26, awarding of winners).

The main program for the 84th Dia de Zamboanga City will be a virtual commemoration to be broadcasted at the Beng Climaco and local government official FB pages on February 26, 8 AM.

Additional activities will also include the Dia de Zamboanga Exhibit (February 20-28), Zamboanga Idol 2021 (February 20, auditions; February 27, finals), SEIMBRA: 1st Zamboanga Horticultural Festival 2021 (February 22-28), Dia de Zamboanga Golf tournament (February 27-28), and Dia de Zamboanga Airsoft Practical Shoot Fest competition (February 28).

The Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga is an annual observance that celebrates the city’s charter anniversary marked by the installation of the first set of appointed city officials led by Mayor Nicasio Valderosa on February 26, 1937. It's the sunny season here in Zamboanga City and it's time to celebrate Summer na Zamboanga 2019! The City Government has prepared a lineup of fun activities and events for the people to enjoy. We have new exciting competitions this year such as the Vlog Competition and Zamboanga Idol 2019 Singing Competition.


We also commemorate the birth anniversary of our late leaders, Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat and Gen. Vicente Alvarez on April 26 and May 18, respectively. In line with the commemoration, activities and competitions will be held such as the Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga Photo Contest and Comida de Zamboanga Cooking Competition.

One of the biggest event this summer is the Zamboanga Valientes vs Ginebra Legends, a basketball showdown of big names in the sport. Talking about sports, the city is hosting a free Summer Learn to Play, the annual sports program where kids get to learn new sports. In the arts, the 1st Graffiti Competition which was postponed during the Dia de Zamboanga is now scheduled for young artists to show their skills in mural street art.

Designers and models will showcase their craft in the Festival de las Bellas 2019, with the theme "Flores." Each designer is assigned a specific type of flower and they shall interpret it in a gown and arco. The parade will be held on May 8 from City Fire Station to the National Museum Courtyard. Summer is here! The City of Government of Zamboanga has prepared fun activities for the hottest season of the year. Beat the heat with the lineup of events and competitions that will surely bring out the fun under the sun! Some of the highlights are the Fiesta na Isla de Sta Cruz, Hiphop Dance Competition: The Movie Challenge, Festival de las Bellas y Flores. There are also new competitions in the lineup such as the Comida de Zamboanga Cooking Competition, Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga Digital Art Competition and the Festival Dance Dance Competition. Star Wars fans will gather for the Star Wars Convention and The Force Begins: A Star Wars Fan Film Premiere Night on May 4 at KCC Mall.
