ABDC 7: LMFAO Challenge Review

8:21 PM
The four remaining crews dance to the music of party-rockers LMFAO. They started with a group number to the song "Live Your Life" by Far East Movement ft. LMFAO and Justin Bieber. The group dance is not my favorite group dance cause it looked just like every group dance they did this season. They highlighted the kid crews and made the older guys look like back-ups. I like the part where some members of Elektrolytes were highlighted. I wished they used the robot heads to create more images or use it for the ending with each crews holding their banner. Anyhow, here's my ranking of the crews based on their performance this week.

abdc america's best dance crew lmfao challenge season 7 elektrolytes
1. Elektrolytes (Safe)
Music: "Champagne Showers"
Challenge: Make a giant shuffle-bot
I used to like this crew because of their high energy and creative choreography and stunts. This performance made me love this crew. I'm already a big fan of theirs and it shows that they can win the hearts of people with their hard work and consistency. This crew is very clean and they highlight stunts and gimmicks which will make your jaw drop. The intro reminds me of Poreotix and Jabba until a guy slides in with his head. Then, they had popping and locking choreography. They had lots of highlights like the stunt where a guy is thrown down and the bottle-opener illusion. They had robotic choreography and ended with the giant robot. It was a memorable routine and I hope they'll make it to the finale with Mos Wanted crew. nuff said.

2. Mos Wanted Crew (Safe)
Music: "Sexy and I Know It"
Challenge: Create a catwalk with wiggle inspired movements and take their trousers off.
I love Mos Wanted but every week they didn't have the most outstanding routine. This week, they deserve to be saved because what they showed is a very entertaining routine yet still remaining their swag and skill as dancers. However, there is no explosive moment where i am deeply amazed unlike Elektrolytes. I love their charisma and entertainment value but they really have to step up next week to make it to the finals.

3. RNG  (Eliminated)
Music: "Sorry for Party Rocking"
Challenge: Recreate the dance breakdown from the music video
It's sad to see this crew leave in this point of the competition. I like the routine coz they still remained their swag as RNG. They mixed different intricate dance styles like tutting and isos in a fast pace yet still maintaining a clean performance. They did the dance breakdown like they own it. I also like the choreography that reminded me of Fanny Pak and the ending where a girl did a frog leap landing to a split. For me they should be the one saved by the judges.

4. 8 Flavahz  (Bottom 2 - Saved)
Music: "Party Rock Anthem"
Challenge: Recreate the explosive event in the music video
I love this crew and i'm happy they are saved. But honestly, this routine is disappointing cause it lacked originality. It's like telling a joke and old joke that is not funny anymore. This crew constantly surprised me the past weeks and i just wished they pushed themselves further and come up with an awesome routine without losing their flavor. Next week they will be battling with two big crews so they better step up triple times. With that being said, i still give them props for pulling off those stunts. I still love these girls!

Next week, the crews will make a routine that will be little longer than the usual. They will all dance to the same music of David Guetta but each of them should make their best to stand out to make it to the finale. On the past seasons, this week featured three to four songs dancing to a dance craze, genre, or style.

ABDC 7: Week 4 Drake Challenge

12:21 AM
Awesome performance by the crew this week! I can say that this season is truly the best in terms of casting. Everyone is just killing it every week. This week the crews have to dance to the music of famous rapper, Drake. And the challenge is to choose a line from the song and bring it to life. On top that they were also given another challenge. Most of his songs are laid back and not too loud for a dance songs so i thought this week would be interesting. I love the mixes shoutout to District 78! Here's my ranking of the crews performances from best to worst.

1. Fanny Pak - "Make Me Proud" (Bottom 2)
Line:"Running on a treadmill and only eating salad"
Challenge: Create a treadmill
Comment: Yes! Finally the Pak is back! The previous weeks i haven't felt the way i used to feel way back season 2. I was so excited to see theatrics, story-telling and dope choreography. It was pure awesomeness that only Fanny Pak can pull off. They were so entertaining with all the attitude and moves.

2. RNG - "HYFR"
Line: "Time for me to revisit the past"
Challenge: Perform a section of their routine in reverse
Comment: RNG is crew that has a signature dance style that is uniquely theirs. For teens, these kids can really dance with power and energy. Love the military theme and the twist at the end where they made the illusion of a rewind. It looked real and its mind-blowing. They ended with so much power that is so intense. Love their attitude and energy.

3. Mos Wanted Crew - "Motto"
Line: "Tell Tune 'Light one, pass it like a relay'"
Challenge: Create a relay
Comment: In contrast to Fanny Pak, Mos wanted crew gave less theatrics and story-telling. They gave us pure choreography and swag all the way. It was fun to watch and it makes me wanna dance, too. They highlighted members of the crew that were usually in the background during the past weeks and showed that every one of them are dope. This week is a breath of fresh air for the crew and they showed a different side of them. They were clean, smooth, hard-hitting, and fun to watch. I definitely love their performance but competition-wise the two crews made more impact.

4. Elektrolytes - "Headlines"
Line: "Floating in and out of consciousness"
Challenge: Create the illusion that someone is levitating
Comment: The illusion is mind-blowing! I was replaying it in the video and i just cant figure out how they did that. The intro was explosive with the comeback of one of their members who was injured since week 1. This crew is about energy and they move so fast as if they were charged with so much horsepower especially during the dubstep part. I just love the over-all performance. But i wish to see more side of them.

5. 8 Flavahz - "Find Your Love"
Line: "I bet if I give all my lovin', nothin's gonna tear us apart";
Challenge: Come connected at some point in their routine
Comment: Their routine was very emotional because of the death of Angel's mother. Because of this you can really feel the emotions from the girls who dedicated the routine for her mom. The routine showed that the crew is there to support her and no matter what happens she always have friends to lean on. Their routine is metaphoric and full of soul. What i didn't like is the inconsistency of emotions from the girls. Some were smiling during the end of the routine.

6. Stepboys - "Best I Ever Had" (Eliminated)
Line: "Every single show she out there reppin' like a mascot"
Challenge: Incorporate a mascot in their routine
Comment: Last week i want them out of the show coz didn't get their comedy. In this performance they got me and they pulled off the tricks nicely. It's sad to see them go but im happy they gave their best and left a good impression of their crew. I like the stunts done by the teddy bear and props for the entertainment value. However,i think that their choreography is not that clean and difficult.

7. Collizion Crew - "Over"
Line: "So I'm riding through this city with my high beams on"
Challenge: Create a Car
Comment: I feel as if I've already seen their routine. There was nothing new and worse, they were not in sync. I spotted lot of mistakes like the guy in the middle during the "rosetta stone" part, the flips and the chopper which took years to complete. The routine is not memorable either.

Next week the crews will dance to the music of J-Lo! Can't wait!

ABDC 7: Week 4 Drake Challenge Song List

2:29 AM

ABDC7: Week 3 Madonna Challenge

11:02 PM
This week the crews dance to the music of the Queen of Pop, Madonna. The episode started with a shocking revelation that two crews will be eliminated. Collizion Crew, Funkdation and Irratik found themselves in the bottom three. Collizion crew were saved and has a chance to perform for another week. Here's my review of the crews' performances (from best to worst).

1. Mos Wanted Crew
Music:"4 Minutes"; Challenge: Incorporate popping
Comment: I just love the whole concept which revolved around time. Their costumes are inpired by Steampunk which involves victorian vests, clockworks, leather and aviator goggles. They incorporated time in their routine too. They started with an image of a clock and moves like pointing to their watches. I love the part where some of the boys glided towards the front in their knees then went to a tutting section where they used their arms as the arm of clocks. Another highlight is when Puspos danced through the stage and every guy did a step after the other with a timewarp effect. Too much great stuff for a minute! Plus factor are their sexy moves mixing smooth moves and  intricate routines. They ended with a bang!

2. 8 Flavahs
Music:"Vogue"; Challenge: Incorporate voguing
Comment: These girls went hard since their first week. Their level of performance is so high for kids yet still keeping their cute factor while dancing. They give lots of emotions and fierceness. Their costumes are contrast to their first week since the are wearing lady suits. They didn't only give voguing, they gave waacking, stunts and lots of attitude. Loved every single second of their performance!

3. Funkdation (eliminated)
Music: "Give me all your luvin", Challenge: Incorporate cheer dance
Highlight: At the start, one of the girls did an assisted backflip and landed on her foot. No catchers!
Comment: I love their energy. Their stunts are super amazing. They have cool choreography, too. However the ending could be less cliche. Anyways, they don't deserve to leave in this time of the competition

4. Irratik (eliminated)
Music: "Express Yourself"; Challenge: Incorporate Jazz Steps
Highlight: Half of the girls went down and released their inner tigresses. The rest of the girls held them with chains on their necks. A girl also did push-ups in the air.
Comment: I love their sharp moves and fierce swag. Their moves are very Madonna while still giving that Irratik flair. It's sad to see them go. I had this feeling last season, too, when Request was eliminated.

5. Elektrolytes
Music:"Hung Up"; Challenge: Incorporate krumping
Highlight: The krumping section where they did the illusion of a cap floating from a guy's shirt.
Comment: I like how they started with an energetic power routine then slowed down with a nice smooth choreography. They also incorporated breaking moves which is great. I can't connect the ending with the rest of the performance but overall it was good!

6. Fanny Pak
Music: "Girl Gone Wild"; Challenge: Incorporate waacking and heels
Comment: They were great yet there was no wow factor aside from the guys wearing heels. Yes, its hard to dance in heels and they made it effortless to dance on it. I just couldn't see them the way they did during season 2. I was distracted by the mirror, too.

7. Collizion (bottom 3)
Music:"Don't Tell Me"; Challenge: Incorporate country line dancing
Comment: They reminded me much of Southern Movement. Their choreography was cute with the linedancing and all. But overall it was just OK.

8. Rated Next Generation (RNG)
Music:"Human Nature"; Challenge: Incorporate thrashing
Comment: It was not a bad performance but there's no wow factor neither. Their choreography was ok. What i can remember are girls versus the guy. They were stuck at the center of the stage and lack variation and dynamics. I expected more from them.

9. Stepboys
Music:"Ray of Light"; Challenge: Incorporate a faster tempo
Comment: I don't know why they're still in the competition. They tried to put comedy in their routine but they just can't pull it off like Poreotics and Quest Crew did. Their comedy is slapstick and lacks class. This routine looks like they are trying hard to give a laugh but i just can't. They wasted the first few seconds and their choreography is not that difficult. However, i appreciate the dynamics of their routine. They had breaking and tutting. But what i can see in them are yucky boys eating booger and smelling their butts.

Im looking forward for next weeks episode where the crews will dance to the music of Drake. I wonder what challenges lie ahead. I sure can't wait for next week!

ABDC Season 6 Winner is I.aM.mE!

2:22 AM
americas best dance crew season six 6 winner champion iammeThe results are out, and just as i thought, I.aM.mE is the winner. They are the only crew who brought originality, creativity and fun each and every week. I.aM.mE is also the first champions coming from the south and the first crew with both boys and girls coming from different backgrounds. They really did their best in every challenge and song given to them like "S&M", "Meet me halfway", "Peacock", "Moment for Life" and "Somebody to Love."

Im a big fan of I.aM.mE. In fact they are my favorite crew and they really made this season a good one. I even made these digital art of their final performance, Ill-emental.Too bad they have to be with the Iconic Boyz in the top 2 which is no competition if we're talking about dance and not popularity. It would have been so much hard for I.aM.mE to compete with ReQuest crew or Phunk Phenomenon.

So, i would like to congratulate I.aM.mE and all the fans. They really showed that they are champions by meeting up to the challenge every week and showing their identity at the same time. They are the only crew who impressed me every single week, killing it everytime. Keep on Inspiring, Motivating and Energizing! Thumbs up!

Instant Noodles Crew Compilation

2:14 PM
One of my favorite bboy crews ever in ABDC. They auditioned last season but didn't made it to the cut. This season they came bigger and better with their experience in other competitions like the USA Hip Hop Internationals where they placed 4th. The group consist of 6 bboys originating from Taiwan. They are Chuck, Mikey, Rob, Charles, Geo and Arthur. At the beginning, they got negative feedback but the got better each week which really impressed the judges epecially bboy judge DTrix of season 3 champions, Quest Crew. My favorite performance was during the Black Eyed Peas week. So here's the compilation of their performances in America's Best Dance Crew where they really showed what bboys are made of and how talented they are.

ABDC Season 6 Crews (Bio & Videos)

1:32 AM
Here are the top ten crews competing for America's Best Dance Crew Season 6! Who's your bet?

787 Crew
, San Juan, Puerto Rico
Hailing from Puerto Rico, this crew is among the fiercest dance crews to hit ABDC. Their fusion of tricks and acrobatics combined with their street finesse and Latin flavor are sure to tear up the dance floor. They take their inspirations from past dance crews, including Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern, who showed them the real meaning of what it means to be a dance crew. 787 is ready to show everyone how it's done.

Eclectic Gentlemen, North Hollywood, CA
The dancers that make up this crew have taught workshops and toured with musical artists around the world, however, they aspire to reach a higher level — and gain recognition in the dance industry. With their focus on being clean cut and well dressed, these suave dancers from North Hollywood bring a unique professional style to the stage; they are sure to wow the judges and viewers, and maybe steal a few hearts.

FootworKINGz, Chicago, IL
This renowned dance group from Chicago represents the essence of strength, raw talent and extreme energy and power. Their artistic direction comes from Charles "King Charles" Parks and Prince "Prince Jron" Boyd, who have both toured globally with Madonna. FootworKINGZ bring a dance style to ABDC never seen before. Blink and you may miss their incredibly quick foot movement in unison to music played at 160 bpm. It's hard to believe this ultimate synchronized crew is from two rival battle cliques representing the West and South sides of Chicago who have united to attract attention to their one-of-a-kind Chicago dance style. The Chicago Tribune describes their unique dance style as "part tap, African tribal and breaking."

I.aM.Me, Houston, TX
This crew originated in Houston, with members from around the globe, including China and the Czech Republic. Individually, these dancers have an impressive resume including collaborations with past dance crews, performing with Justin Bieber, Fat Joe, Cobra Starship and American Rejects. They are ready to bring their talents and experiences together to be America's Best Dance Crew.

ICONic Boyz, Englishtown, NJ
With a member of the crew as young as 10 years old, these boys will be the youngest dancers to ever compete on the "Dance Crew" stage as they hope to impress the crowd with their unique style of hip hop and street jazz. While most young boys take up sports like football, baseball and basketball, this crew has been pursuing dancing. They may be a bunch of little "Italian boyz" from New Jersey, but they can hang with the best and are not afraid of a fight!

Instant Noodles, Los Angeles, CA
Instant Noodles is a crew of five young men whose dance roots and native tongue are in Taipei, Taiwan but who live in Southern California attending college and entering dance battles whenever there is the opportunity. Sharing not only a country of origin but also a love for dance, the crew aims to inspire future generations of b-boys while remaining true to their craft in building a distinctive and entertaining style that showcases their groundbreaking dance skills. This crew will quickly become an ABDC favorite with their musicality, sense of humor and energetic choreography.

JAG6ED, Crewnshaw, CA
From roller skates to jump ropes, past dance crews have proved that nearly anything can be incorporated into hip hop dance as long as it is done with style. These California girls from Crenshaw, a district in Los Angeles, are a contemporary pole-dance crew, fusing the art of dance with aerial pole work. The sophisticated six-member crew strives to break the negative image of pole dance and reconstruct it as an art form.

Phunk Phenomenon, Boston, MA
Composed of New England's finest male and female dancers, Phunk Phenomenon is a company of unique multi-ethnic and multi-cultural urban artists who create an intriguing blend of modern and traditional dance styles. The end result is a provocative dance performance with a unique synthesis of style and appearance. In addition to fighting for the title of "America's Best Dance Crew," Phunk Phenomenon is also fighting to raise awareness for Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare disease that is afflicting the son of the crew's founder back home in Boston.

ReQuest, Auckland, New Zealand
Flying across the globe from New Zealand, this group of females is riding high as the 2010/11 World Hip Hop Dance Champions. — whose members are Kiwi, Samoan, Chinese, Maori, Rarotongan, Japanese, Hawaiian and Portuguese — are a melting pot of many cultures. Though made up of many cultures, this crew is brought together by the culture of hip hop dance and hopes to inspire women around the world to get up and dance.

Street Kingdom, Los Angeles, CA
Tight-Eyez, the group's founder and co originator of Krump who was featured in the movie RIZE, leads this dynamic crew. Having experienced rough inner city life in Los Angeles, this dance crew knows the meaning of hardship. Dance became an outlet and a savior for them as they discovered their passion for Krumping, a highly energetic style characterized by free, expressive and explosive movements. After overcoming gang life and broken homes, the members of Street Kingdom feel like they have the strength to succeed on the "America's Best Dance Crew" stage.
